Project Schedules and Reporting

At the beginning of the project, a plan of action and time schedule is created using Microsoft Project. The schedule is updated every two weeks and emailed to the customer so that they have an accurate view of where the project is and how long each item will take. Included every two weeks is a report that shows hours spent, hours remaining, and notes any changes to the shedule that may have occurred.

Communications

DJH Engineering has a number of communication methods available for the customer to utilize including telephone and email. DJH Engineering also utilizes NetMeeting and video conferencing to share information and make sure that both DJHEC and our customer have a complete understanding after each communication.

Design Reviews

During each project it is necessary tor periodic design reviews to be conducted at our site or the customers site. These design reviews are to discuss the product design, but the focus is about the manufacturing issues involved in product development. The first review is the preliminary design review to ensure the spec is complete and to clarify formats and standards. Because DJHEC is exposed to so many different manufacturing methods, it is necessary to meet and discuss the manufacturing methods utilized by the customer, and address concerns that would arise during the manufacturing process. Drawings are reviewed to ensure that they are designed using the same standards as used by the customer and advise DJHEC of any changes to the drawing standards that may not have been issued to DJHEC. In absence of a drawing standard, DJH will provide standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. The Analysis and FEA are reviewed and discussed to pinpoint potenial weaknesses, or breakages in the design. Other aspects of the design that are discussed during design reviews is Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (DFMEA) and Manufacture Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (MFMEA).
